Athens perhaps has the biggest heredity of many years and impressive cultural of any city in Europe. Nevertheless, Athens not only is recognized by the world for its ancient culture, if not definitely also for its present culture. The culture has been a part of Athens and of Greece in general its main characteristic in the history. Athens has given to the world the most popular writers, poets, philosophers and orators and its cultural permanent long tradition continue until the present day. The museums maintain the old living history, while an enormous number of theaters, concert halls, galleries of exhibition, do the new cultural history. In Athens these two often go of the hand.

The city has a number of international groups of functioning and an enthusiasm continued for the arts. There is presented every year in Athens the Festival (June to September). This international main festival was initiated in 1955 and it combines the music, the modern and classic theater, and the contemporary and traditional dance. Music and Dance
