Thessaloniki or Salonika is the capital of Macedonia, the second city of Greece and one of the oldest cities in Europe. It was founded in 316 aC, on a place of old prehistoric establishments that return 2300 aC, by Cassander, King of Macedon. He called it after its wife Thessalonica, the sister of Alejandro Magno.
